Lancôme x Dream, Create

May 24, 2013 8:40 am

It’s been so hard to keep this secret, but finally the word is out and I can share it with everyone….

A few weeks ago I was approached by Lancôme to be a part of a major photography installation this June in Toronto!
Cue heart attack/ brain aneurysm/ theatrical fall from chair.

The installation comes in two parts: “Rôses by…”  is an insane exhibit of twenty international photographers (Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Nick Knight and 17 others) given carte blanche to create their personal interpretation of the rose, iconic emblem of Lancôme.

The second part of the installation (which I will be a part of) features the photographic interpretation of the iconic rose by 20 top Canadian bloggers. Attendees download an smart phone app made exclusively for the exhibit then view the photos virtually mounted on the walls via an augmented reality technology. Crazy right!?

When I thought this experience couldn’t get any cooler, I found out that Lancôme selected one of my photos (above photo) for the lead event and promotional image! Cue subsequent heart attack.

I know it’s silly, but seeing my name and image in the same press release, inches away from the names of Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier and Nick Knight is an experience I could never translate into words, but looks similar to a cartoon jaw drop.

A HUGE thank you to the ladies who helped me make this happen: Carly, Marion, Bethany, Ashley, Mom, and Nina….you are all goddess rockstars who I will be eternally grateful to. Stay tuned in the next few weeks for updates and more images from the shoot!

I could never forget you…but once in a while I will look longingly out the window and do a backstreet boy reach. Perhaps you will be in another city, looking at the same sky and think of me.
hah Thanks lovely, I hope you’re doing well!
